HP showed of updated notebook models and guys from NotebookReview were lucky to had some hands-on time. All the updates are sure to be at Santa’s disposal this Christmas and we can’t say wouldn’t mind to get one of them in our stockings. First one is HP Envy 17 that brings 3D display technology to the table and there is another addition to the Envy series with HP Envy 14 Beats Edition that will come in black and with bundled high quality headphones. Going away from the premium notebooks the HP Pavilion dm3 notebook series will also get a much needed refresh with latest ultra low voltage Intel Core i-series that will offer much better performance and battery life then current dm3 series that pack AMD processors. Another great feature worth mentioning is the “intelligent cooling system” which will enable the user to control the heat of the notebook that it will be more comfortable to use when in lap. Finally also the HP Mini netbook series will get a new arrival in form of the HP Mini 210 HD will also feature a new chassis design that matches the bigger dm3’s design and will come in a variety of colors. As if there wasn’t already enough of netbooks out there Dell launched yet another netbook that apart from the optional Bluetooth 3.0 has nothing to inspiring to show. The basic configuration comes with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 160 GB hard drive, Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics, 3-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter and costs £279. For extra £20 you get 250GB hard drive and a 6-cell battery while the top model costs £329 and comes with 250GB hard drive, 6-cell battery and Bluetooth 3.0. All configuration come in black-only at the moment but knowing Dell some different color choice should come along in a few months.

Nokia has just announced the launch of the Nokia X3-02 handset that brings touchscreen to an otherwise an ordinary 16-button keypad mobile phone that runs Symbian S40 OS. Specswise it not to shabby with2.4 inch QVGA resistive touchscreen, 3G, Wifi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 all stuffed into a brushed aluminium chassis that is only 9.6mm thin. It is not exactly an iPhone killer but costing only €125 excluding tax it is definitely grate value. Hope that reviews will start pouring in soon for more details on how Nokia will adapt the UI.

We normally don’t post rumours and leaks as we would hate to tease you with desirable devices that might never happen but this one is just to sexy to pass up. Engadget got exclusive video and photos of the yet-to-be-confirmed Dell Thunder smartphone prototype that featured 8 megapixel digital camera with flash, Google Android 2.1 and  4.1 inch OLED  display (480×800px). Let’s hope the final model will feature a 2.2 version of Google Androd – Froyo. So if the Dell Thunder turned out to be true then probably other previously leaked Dell devices will turn true as well – Lightning the Windows 7 Phone smartphone, Looking Glass the 7 inch Google Android Tablet and two more Google Android smartphones the Flash and Smoke.

Usually we don’t write about mobile phones exclusively launched in US as we are UK based but when Motorola announced a world first Google Android QWERTY smartphone we just couldn’t pass it up. It will feature a 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen and an enhanced version of Motorola’s MOTOBLUR user interface for Google Android 2.1. Read the full story for more official photos and details.

It’s no secret that Firefox’s market share is pretty much stagnant at the moment with more and more users rather using one of the faster alternatives such as Google Chrome so Mozilla really needs to get its act together and by the looks of Firefox 4 Beta 1 it might just hit the nail on the head. The new version brings an updated user interface that feels sleeker and easier to use, HTML5 and CSS3 support. While the beta version feels fast they promise the final release to be much much faster. Dell today launched new Inspiron R Notebook Series featuring Intel Wireless Display. The new line-up is be powered by Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors and optional 1GB ATI Dedicated Graphics and comes in 14 inch, 15.6 inch and 17.3 inch displays. As it has come to expect from Dell these notebooks it is available in various colours including Black, Pink, Red and Blue.
