Sebastian Jentsch at NotebookCheck posted a review on the Samsung P530 Pro 15.6 inch Notebook. His verdict was that the Samsung P530 Pro is a solid and durable 15.6 inch notebook.  It features a good laid out keyboard, low heat and noise emissions and an Intel Core i3 processor which isn’t as fast as the Core i5 and i7 processors featuring TurboBoost but is completely adequate. There are some drawbacks such as low capacity battery (4,000 mAh) which produces just enough juice for about 3 hours of general use and lack of dedicated graphics.

Her conclusion was that overall it is a great notebook as it features the right balance between looks, performance and battery life but unfortunately it is let down by a very bad touchpad which in our opinion is not that big of a deal. Alienware created lots of buzz when it released a small but powerful 11.6 inch notebook a few months ago the Alienware M11x. At the time it was available with either a 1.3 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core SU4100 or 1.3 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300. Starting from today the Alienware is as well available with a 1.06 GHz Intel Core i5 520UM and 1.06 GHz Intel Core i7 640UM. Unfortunately the release of new CPU options didn’t cause a price drop for the older options. For a base Intel Pentium Dual Core you will still need to shell out £749 while the Intel Core 2 Duo will set you back for additional £40. The Intel Core i5 system starts at £849 and the Intel Core i7 upgrade adds £180 to the price. Alienware also added the nVidia Optimus technology for the seamless graphics switching between the power saving Intel GMA HD and the high performance nVidia Geforce GT 335M.
