Asus is trying to take on Alienware M17x gaming notebook with its latest G series gaming notebook. Charles P. Jefferies at NotebookReview posted a review on the ASUS G73JH 17.3 Intel Core i7 Gaming Notebook. His verdict was that the ASUS G73JH is a great gaming notebook as it packs enough punch to power all modern game titles while staying cool and quiet. As far as the build quality goes it is top-notch as we got used to expect from Asus notebooks. Apart from some minor issues with the touchpad he didn’t really find anything to complain about so it earned his recommendation.

Alienware amazed us couple of weeks ago with world first portable gaming notebook the Alienware M11x now it’s ready to blow us away or better said blow your competition away with Alienware M17x Intel Core i7 17 inch gaming notebook that packs 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 dedicated graphics chip which scored 15151 points in 3Dmark06. Florian Glaser at NotebookCheck thinks that  the Alienware M17x delivers amazing performance thanks to the overclocked Intel Core i7-620M 2.66GHz and ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2. It features a solid aluminium chassis design that stays pretty much all the time. There are some glitches though such as loud noise, heavy weight and some software and graphics driver crashes. We can digest the noise and weight it’s a gaming notebook after all but crashing is not acceptable especially if it the middle of a an intense fight that you are about to win. So Alienware and ATI get to work on fixing those drivers as fast as your notebook is.

We have posted as much info on the Alienware M11x 11.6 inch Gaming Notebook as other websites posted on the Apple iPad. But unlike the iPad the Alienware M11x actually is quite revolutionary as it is the first portable notebook with enough power for serious gaming… if you keep the graphics details on medium of course. Jerry Jackson at NotebookReview was first to post an in-depth review on Alienware M11x – lucky him! His final verdict was the Alienware M11x truly is an inspiring notebook due to its solid design, compact size, capable gaming performance and most importantly an affordable price. It might not be the ultimate gaming notebook but it definitely is an ultimate gaming portable notebook as it packs enough power to run latest games while also delivering a respectable 8 hour battery life. So Dell and Alienware pretty much achieved what they aimed and filled the last whole in the gaming notebook market. Now who is next to follow this suit. Our money is on Asus.

Rory Reid at Cnet posted a review on the MSI GT640 15.4 inch Gaming Notebook. He thinks the MSI GT640 notebook is not exactly the fastest gaming notebook in the world but it is fast enough to handle any task you throw at it including gaming. thing you throw at it, including games. If you don’t care so much about the design this notebook is definitely worth considering as it is noticeably cheaper then most if its main rivals.
