More megapixels doesn’t necessarily mean better image quality. Howard Creech at DigitalCameraReview posted a review on the Olympus E-P2 12 megapixel Pen Digital Camera. He thinks the Olympus E-P2  should appeal to pro and semi-pro shooters looking for a pocketable back-up camera with lots of creative potential, casual shooters looking for a stylish and easy to use camera with lots of automatic capability, and amateur photographers looking to move up from their consumer and prosumer point and shoots. The EP-2 is compact, unobtrusive, responsive, easy to use, and capable of consistently and dependably delivering “pro” quality images.

Mark Goldstein at Photography Blog posted a review on the Ricoh CX3 10 megapixel Digital Camera. He thinks the Ricoh CX3’s new 10 megapixel back-illuminated sensor does sound exotic and promises a lot but unfortunately it doesn’t bring many noticeable improvements over its predecessor the Ricoh CX2.

We are not done with digital camera news for today just yet. It seems as spring is closing in the camera manufacturers are starting to launch new models for the summer season. This time Canon is the one to announce more new models in form of 14.1 megapixel 4x optical zoom Canon IXUS 130, 12.1 megapixel 4x optical zoom IXUS 105, 14.1 megapixel 5x optical zoom IXUS 210 and 14.1 megapixel 14x optical zoom PowerShot SX210 IS digital camera. It looks like the megapixel war resumes. Seriously, what we need is a 10 megapixel camera with no noise and not 14 megapixel cameras that produce more noise as a result of this marketing war. Cliff Smith at TrustedReviews posted a review on the Leica D-Lux 4 11.3 megapixel Digital Camera. He thinks the Leica D-Lux 4 is the ultimate luxury compact digital camera as it is extremely expensive and superb camera with beautiful design, outstanding build quality, handling, performance and image quality. It essentially is a Panasonic LX3 so it’s up to you to decide whether you want to pat extra £200 for the Leica name.

Allison Johnson at NotebookReview posted hands-on photos and first impressions on the Olympus E-PL1 12 megapixel Digital Pen Camera and he even posted a video! He thinks if the Micro Four Thirds digital camera range is where dSLR and Point-and-Shoot digital cameras meet then the Olympus E-PL1 is definitely the most Point-and-Shoot oriented camera in this category. It doesn’t offer the same sophistication as its predecessors but it does feature almost all of the same the same functions and adds a built-in flash and a lower price.
