Everyone is impressed by the power that gaming rigs such as Alienware Aurora ALX delivers but let’s not forget that most users are after basic desktop PC that are small, quite and most importantly affordable. Dell Inspiron 580s Intel Core i3 Slimline Desktop PC aims exactly at those users. Having a few Dell desktop PCs in our office we quite like Dell’s efforts in the desktop area so we were eager to see how their latest slimline PC will perform in test that was put through by J.R. Nelson at DesktopReview. His verdict was Dell Inspiron 580s isn’t the first and only attractive and capable slimline desktop PC but it definitely ticks all the right boxes such as good performance thanks to Intel Core i3, good build quality and very good value.

Kevin O’Brien at NotebookReview posted a review on the Dell Latitude Z 16 inch Business Notebook. He thinks the Dell Latitude Z is one of the most impressive business notebooks as it features many unique features such as EdgeTouch technology, inductive charging and haptic feedback for the volume controls all packed inside of a chassis that is less then 20 mm thick. But it’s not all wonderland for this over $3,000 USD priced notebook as it doesn’t really deliver the performance expected from a 16 inch notebook. But if all you want is a business notebook that looks amazing this is definitely the one to buy.

Eric Franklin at Cnet posted a review on the Dell UltraSharp U2711 27 inch LCD Monitor. He thinks the Dell UltraSharp U2711 (resolution 2560 x 1440 px) is the LCD monitor you should buy if you have the money (£1,000 to be exact) and even if you don’t you should start saving as it really is outstanding. We will definitely start saving as we love Dell screens. At the moment we have 22 and 24 inch Dell screens and we are very happy with them. More inches more fun.

We have already posted a review on the new Dell Mini 10 a while ago but Sebastian Jentsch at Notebookcheck posted a lot more in-depth review of the Dell Mini 1012. He thinks the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 with Broadcom Crystal HD chip for decoding HD videos achieved remarkable battery life playing 720p videos with up to 5.5 hours so you can expect about 10 hours of battery life doing more basic tasks which is very impressive even for a netbook. The Dell Mini 1012 also features another rare option found in other netbooks an HD 1366 x 768 screen that also produces vivid and bright picture. We personally are also impressed with an unusual chassis design. Thumbs up to Dell for trying something new.

The fact is that sometimes bigger is better and for desktop screens that is definitely correct. That’s we are always happy when manufacturers release new bigger and better screens. This time was Dell that supplied us with size in form of Dell UltraSharp U2410 24 inch LCD Screen. Ardjuna Seghers at TrustedReviews posted a review on Dell UltraSharp U2410. He thinks that while Dell UltraSharp U2410 is not a perfect screen if offers great features such as attractive design, fantastic ergonomics and overall impressive image quality. This screen will appeal to anyone whether a gamer, graphics designer or anyone less that can appreciate a good screen. It also represents excellent value as at the moment it retails only at £431.

Dell IN1910N 18.5 inch LCD Monitor Review

Dell IN1910N 18.5 inch LCD Monitor Review

Eric Franklin at Cnet posted a review on the Dell IN1910N 18.5 inch LCD Monitor. He thinks the Dell IN1910N is a perfect example of you get what you pay for as at RRP of £90 brings average performance, very limited connectivity an adjustability so he would recommend to save up a bit more cash to buy something better.

In my opinion the screen works well as my friend has a similar Dell monitor and everything is OK for general use of an average user. Sometimes reviewers (including myself) get to critical as they (we) are used to the best of the crop in technology forgetting what average users are willing to spend. So if you are on a low budget this might be the perfect screen for you.

Dell New Mini 10 Netbook with HD Video Accelerator Review

Dell New Mini 10 Netbook with HD Video Accelerator Review
Posted in Netbook Reviews, Netbooks
Monday, 25 January 2010 by Vito

Joanna Stern at Engadget posted a review on the Dell New Mini 10 Netbook with HD Video Accelerator. She thinks if you’re looking for a Intel Pine Trail featuring netbook without the HD accelerator the Dell New Mini 10 netbook is just an average netbook as it is not as comfortable to use as the Toshiba Mini NB305 and the battery life is not as good as the Asus Eee PC 1005PE. But if you are after a netbook with an HD accelerator it does seem like a good choice but bear in mind that there are ION netbooks out there that can handle the HD playback as easily but also offer gaming bust. So in my opinion this netbook will have difficulty finding customers although it does offer one outstanding feature for a 10 inch netook the 1366 x 768 px resolution screen.

Tobias Winkler at NotebookCheck posted a review on the Dell Vostro V13 13.3 inch Intel CULV Business Notebook. He thinks the Vostro V13 is extremely attractively designed and built using good quality materials that will appeal to both consumer and business  sectors. It slightly lets him down with an average battery life and performance due to weak (single core) processor.
