Fancy the looks of HP Envy but it’s over your budget. Worry not HP G62-130EG 15.6 inch Notebook takes design elements of HP Envy notebook series and adapts it to the budget notebook. Now who says fashion has to be expensive. HP certainly not any more. Otherwise the HP G62-130EG packs a 2.13 GHz Intel Core i3 330M, 4GB RAM and dedicated 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 graphics. Dell Inspiron M301z 13.3 inch Notebook Review

Dell Inspiron M301z 13.3 inch Notebook Review

Dell launched the AMD powered 13.3 inch Dell Inspiron M301z back in May and now guys over at NotebookCheck posted a review. Their verdict was that the Dell Insprion M301z is a capable 13.3 inch notebook with fast performance thanks to the fast 7200 rpm hard drive and the 1.5 GHz dual core AMD Turion II Neo K625. But bare in mind that this is a CULV processor so if you need a true performer you will need to look elsewhere and the same goes for the battery life as it packs a relatively small capacity battery (44 Wh) that is enough for up to 4.5 hours that is decent but is not exactly a marathon runner.

Believe it or not this is not yet another incarnation of an Intel Atom based netbook as the Acer Aspire One 521 is based on AMD’s platform featuring a 1.7 GHz AMD Athlon Neo II processor and integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics. The conclusion was that finally AMD has created a competitive netbook platform and even surpassed Intel in performance and pricing but is still a bit behind in terms of battery life but overall a very impressive netbook.

It’s good to finally see more and more manufacturers embracing AMD processors as they are marginally cheaper then Intel processors. They are slower and more power hungry but not everyone need top-notch performance in their notebook. Acer Aspire 5625G-P924G50M features a 1.6 GHz quad-core AMD Phenom II X4 P920 processor and switchable graphices between a dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 and integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250. Acer Aspire One 521 and Acer Aspire One 721 Review

Acer Aspire One 521 and Acer Aspire One 721 Review

Usually we don’t get excited over yet another netbook release but two new models from Acer the Acer Aspire One 521 10.1 inch netbook and Acer Aspire One 721 11.6 inch netbook might raise some interest from us as they are not yet another Intel Atom packing netbooks. Instead of the Intel’s week Intel Atom platform they feature a more powerful combination of a 1.7GHz Athlon II Neo K125 processor (don’t get fooled by the ‘II’ symbol in the name as this is a single core processor) and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 integrated graphics that promise 1080p video playback. That all sounds good to us but usually AMD platforms are way behind the Intel platforms in terms of battery life. Read the full review at Engadget to find out if that’s the case.

A cheap triple-core 15.6 inch notebook sure sounds promising. Ardjuna Seghers at TrustedReviews tested the AMD Phenom II X3 packing Acer Aspire 5551 15.6 inch Notebook to find out how it performs and his verdict was that the AMD N830 Phenom II X3 mobile processor consumes the same amount of power as the dual core AMD processor its performance isn’t any better either unless all three cores are in use. Which honestly is note very often therefore it doesn’t make much sense paying extra cash for an extra core that will probably be hardly used but you can judge it by yourself by reading the full story at TrustedReviews.

Acer’s TimelineX series has caused a lot of interest on our website so far so we are delighted to the 14 inch Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG-434G64Mn to our repertoire. It was Florian Glaser at NotebookCheck that posted the review. His conclusion was that with Acer succeeded in creating a notebook with multimedia capabilities and long battery life in the same package with latest TimelineX series and the 14 inch Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG is no exception as the Intel Core i5-430M and the ATI Radeon HD 5650 take care of business very well while the switchable graphics take care of the batter life up to 6 hours. Now only the 11.6 inch Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830TG remains to be reviewed to complete the TimelineX series. Let’s hope it will be as good as its bigger brothers were.
