Long zoom compact digital cameras are becoming more and more popular due to offering a long zoom and pocketability (did we just come up with a new word?) at an affordable price and Nikon Coolpix S8000 14 megapixel Digital Camera aims to deliver both long zoom and good image quality in a small and compact body. We have already posted review on the Sony NEX-5 and is it’s younger brother’s turn. Guys over at Cnet tested the Sony NEX-3 and concluded that both the Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 combine innovative and cutting-edge features but they perform rather like beefed-up compact digital cameras then slimmed-down SLRs. But the bottom line is the Sony NEX-5 offers great value for money.

Canon PowerShot SX210 IS was announced back in February 2010 and now Cliff Smith at TrustedRevies posted a review on this 14 megapixel digital camera. His verdict was that the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS comes at a price but it does offer more useful features than other cameras in its class. As it is expected from Canon the build quality and handling are nothing less than excellent while the photo quality is very good considering the 14 megapixel sensor installed.

Andy Stanton at DigitalCameraReview posted a review on the Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS 14 megapixel Digital Camera. He enjoyed taking photos with the Canon SD1400 IS as it is small, sleek and features very solid chassis. As far as photo and video quality it produces satisfying results. We always like various color options with electronic products but this particular pink one seems a bit to much for our liking.

More megapixels doesn’t necessarily mean better image quality. So let’s find out if Sony managed to produce a camera with a whopping 14 megapixel that also performs well in low-light conditions. Rod Lawton at Cnet has the answers as he posted the review on the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W380 14 megapixel Digital Camera. His conclusion was that the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W380 is overall well-designed and versatile digital camera that manages to  produce  good quality photos.

We are not done with digital camera news for today just yet. It seems as spring is closing in the camera manufacturers are starting to launch new models for the summer season. This time Canon is the one to announce more new models in form of 14.1 megapixel 4x optical zoom Canon IXUS 130, 12.1 megapixel 4x optical zoom IXUS 105, 14.1 megapixel 5x optical zoom IXUS 210 and 14.1 megapixel 14x optical zoom PowerShot SX210 IS digital camera. It looks like the megapixel war resumes. Seriously, what we need is a 10 megapixel camera with no noise and not 14 megapixel cameras that produce more noise as a result of this marketing war.
