Dual core Intel Atom? CHECK
nVidia ION graphics with Optimus switching technology? CHECK
HD (1366×768 px) screen? CHECK
Battery life of over 6 hours? CHECK
RRP under $500? CHECK

According to the above list we finally have an ultimate netbook. So ultimate in fact we are not sure should we call it a netbook any more but for the sake of Intel Atom processor (even though it is dual core) let’s still put in the same category as other average netbooks. And who else would make such a “powerful” netbook if not the manufacturer that started the netbook craze with its Eee PC brand – Asus. Asus Eee PC 1215N is a 12.1 inch dream full-filing netbook so you must check the review. No, no, we insist and disregard the 3.5 star rating at the top of the review this netbook is “The One Netbook” (sorry Acer)

If you have always loved the Toshiba NB305 netbook but was just slightly over your budget then Toshiba has got an answer for you a cheaper brother the Toshiba NB250 even though guys at TrustedReviews think that if you decide to buy the Toshiba NB250 you should get the version with a six-cell battery to get some decent battery life out if it but bare in mind that this is yet just another average netbook out there with little to stand out from the already blend netbook market.

Yet another Asus netbok. Not quite as the Asus Eee PC 1015P netbook does feature an average Intel Pine Trail Atom netbook hardware but unlike other netbooks it comes in all-matt finish including the screen which makes it perfect for outdoors. If you are intrigued by this strictly no-gloss netbook as we are read the full story to find out how it performed in test.

Yesterday we featured a netbook with a difference the AMD platform based Acer Aspire One 521 and today we have another netbook that is trying to add a different flavour to otherwise a very average Intel Pine Trail netbook. The Samsung NB30 10.1 inch adds a more rugged chassis then your standard netbook but don’t expect to compete with Panasonic Toughbooks though. Read the full story to find out more.

Believe it or not this is not yet another incarnation of an Intel Atom based netbook as the Acer Aspire One 521 is based on AMD’s platform featuring a 1.7 GHz AMD Athlon Neo II processor and integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics. The conclusion was that finally AMD has created a competitive netbook platform and even surpassed Intel in performance and pricing but is still a bit behind in terms of battery life but overall a very impressive netbook.

Acer Aspire One 521 and Acer Aspire One 721 Review

Acer Aspire One 521 and Acer Aspire One 721 Review

Usually we don’t get excited over yet another netbook release but two new models from Acer the Acer Aspire One 521 10.1 inch netbook and Acer Aspire One 721 11.6 inch netbook might raise some interest from us as they are not yet another Intel Atom packing netbooks. Instead of the Intel’s week Intel Atom platform they feature a more powerful combination of a 1.7GHz Athlon II Neo K125 processor (don’t get fooled by the ‘II’ symbol in the name as this is a single core processor) and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 integrated graphics that promise 1080p video playback. That all sounds good to us but usually AMD platforms are way behind the Intel platforms in terms of battery life. Read the full review at Engadget to find out if that’s the case.

Remember the overpriced Sony VAIO P series that sported a crazy 8 inch (1600×768 px) screen but totally let us down in terms of performance thanks to its Intel Atom processor. Well it is back this time adding built-in GPS and accelerometer which all sounds really great but we would still advise you to stay away from it due to Intel Atom processor and high RRP starting at £799. T3 got more details.
