Dell Mini 1012 netbook isn’t the only netbook in town that features the Broadcom Crystal Video Accelerator chip. Now the HP Mini 210 HD packs one as well. Joanna Stern at Engadget spent some time with it and found out that even though its ClickPad was frustrating to use the HP Mini 210 HD offers an attractive design, comfortable keyboard and a decent 7 hour battery life. As far as for the Broadcom chip it brings some advantage over Intel GMA 3150 graphics but it doesn’t offer the same perfomance that nVidia ION does.

Asus keeps releasing new Eee PC models so that it is very difficult to keep track of them. Anyway next one up is the Asus Eee PC 1001p 10.1 inch Intel Pine Trail Netbook. Sebastian Jentsch at NetbookCheck posted a review and thinksthe Asus Eee PC 1001p is the basic Asus Intel Pine Trail model with no bluetooth, only a 160 GB hard drive and Windows XP. But on the upside it delivers 11 hour battery life so it is a bargain road warrior.

Lenovo Ideapad S12 12 inch ION Netbook Review

Lenovo Ideapad S12 12 inch ION Netbook Review

We’ve always been fans of small laptops packing “some” graphical punch so we are always happy when we see a review of another one. Florian Wimmer at NotebookCheck posted a review on the Lenovo Ideapad S12 12 inch ION Netbook. He thinks the IdeaPad S12 is a bit big to be called a netbook but as it features the underpowered Intel Atom it kind of still falls in the netbook territory. It is well designed and built what is to be expected from Lenovo that’s why we’ve always been fans of Idepad range but unfortunately Lenovo hasn’t exactly blessed us here in the UK with a wide release of its consumer models. Maybe we’ll have to go for a short shopping trip across the pond to get ourselves a couple. As for the ION graphics we’ve come to know that it can do some gaming with older titles and that it can play HD video. Well, sort of.

Just when you thought that only Sony likes to make netbooks that are way out of the netbook price range Nokia launched the Nokia Booklet 3G 10.1 inch Netbook with Integrated 3G modem. But unlike Sony’s fashion statements Nokia’s netbook actually packs some unique features other then just a good design. Rory Reid at Cnet thinks it’s a wonderful piece of engineering. He loves the features such as integrated 3G modem, high resolution screen, outstanding battery life and fan-less design. Just try not to look at the price tag (£689).

Kevin O’Brien at NotebookReview posted a review on the Dell Latitude Z 16 inch Business Notebook. He thinks the Dell Latitude Z is one of the most impressive business notebooks as it features many unique features such as EdgeTouch technology, inductive charging and haptic feedback for the volume controls all packed inside of a chassis that is less then 20 mm thick. But it’s not all wonderland for this over $3,000 USD priced notebook as it doesn’t really deliver the performance expected from a 16 inch notebook. But if all you want is a business notebook that looks amazing this is definitely the one to buy.

We have already posted a review on the new Dell Mini 10 a while ago but Sebastian Jentsch at Notebookcheck posted a lot more in-depth review of the Dell Mini 1012. He thinks the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 with Broadcom Crystal HD chip for decoding HD videos achieved remarkable battery life playing 720p videos with up to 5.5 hours so you can expect about 10 hours of battery life doing more basic tasks which is very impressive even for a netbook. The Dell Mini 1012 also features another rare option found in other netbooks an HD 1366 x 768 screen that also produces vivid and bright picture. We personally are also impressed with an unusual chassis design. Thumbs up to Dell for trying something new.

A flood of Intel Pine Trail netbooks continues with Asus Asus Eee PC 1008P Seashell 10.1 inch Netbook. Felix Sold at NotebookCheck spend some time with it and posted an in-depth review. He thinks Asus Eee PC 1008P brings positive experience to the table with decreased power consumption that results in an increased battery life (up to 13.5 hours) compared to the Asus’s own Intel Pine Trail Eee PC 1005P. Other then battery life and exclusive design by Karim Rashid wich we at HandsOnReviews have never heard of (but we do have to admit it does look very classy) it is yet another 10.1 inch netbook featuring a 250 GB hard drive and 1 GB RAM.
