Andy Vandervell at TrustedReviews posted a review on the Toshiba Satellite U500-178 13.3 inch notebook. He thinks the Toshiba Satellite U500-178 is fast and portable. It also has couple of great features such as the backlit keyboard and USB ports that can charge devices while notebook is switched off. On the downside it has a mediocre battery life while the keyboard is rather disappointing as well.

Asus G51J Core i7 15.6 inch Gaming Notebook Review

Asus G51J Core i7 15.6 inch Gaming Notebook Review
Posted in Notebook Reviews, Notebooks

Shawn Oliver at HotHardware posted a review on the Asus G51J Core i7 15.6 inch Gaming Notebook. He thinks all in all, the G51J-A1 is great at being itself – gaming notebook. The keyboard is just too lackluster to be used for daily typing chores, note taking, etc., and the battery is too poor to use on the road for any real length of time. It’s a portable gaming rig in a form factor that’s smaller than those gigantic 17 and 18.4 machines out there and that’s about it.

Asus G51J Core i7 15.6 inch Gaming Notebook Specifications:
- 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium
- Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz Quad-Core Processor
- 4GB of DDR3 RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M Mobile GPU
- 15.6 inch Glossy Screen 1920 x 1080 px
- VGA, HDMI
- 2 x 320 GB 7200 RPM hard disk
- WiFi b/g/n, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, Webcam
- Size: 14.6 x 10.3 x 1.3 – 1.6, Weight: 7.2 Pounds
- Bundled Backpack And Razer Mouse
- 6-Cell  Battery
- RRP $1499
- 2-Year Warranty

Medion Akoya E3211 13.3 inch CULV Notebook Review

Medion Akoya E3211 13.3 inch CULV Notebook Review
Posted in Notebook Reviews, Notebooks

Andy Vandervell at TrustedReviews posted a review on the Medion Akoya E3211 13.3 inch CULV Notebook. He thinks the Medion Akoya E3211 is a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde product. On the bright side it’s cheap, well-featured, has decent battery life and offers an optical drive where competitors have none; on the dark it looks and feels like its price, has a poor keyboard and performance is lacklustre. If you’ve been looking at similar products but don’t want to sacrifice a disc spinner, it’s worth a punt, but we’d recommend waiting to see what else comes along. Kivu’s G-Five KTNO2 netbook sports ‘aerodynamic’ design

Kivu’s G-Five KTNO2 netbook sports ‘aerodynamic’ design
Posted in Netbook News, Netbooks

There are a lot of improvements we like to see in netbooks — more SSD storage, higher-resolution screens, less flimsy construction — but not a one of us put greater aerodynamic lift anywhere on our list. Someone at Kivu Technology Co. apparently did, as the company has launched this G-Five KTNO2 netbook, a machine that is at the same time boringly derivative and patently ludicrous. It was modeled after an aircraft’s wing and, while it looks sophisticated enough with that titanium hue, you’ll have a hard time taking it seriously after seeing the graphic after the break comparing it to a bird’s wing. Specs? Everything you’d expect in an otherwise copycat 10-inch netbook, from the 1.6GHz Atom processor to the 160GB HDD.
